Spiritual Babylon
There is a huge amount of speculation about Babylon The Great, many say that it is the Roman Catholic Church, New York, United Nations or even Jerusalem but what we can say is that Babylon is not the Roman Catholic Church, but is a type of something often found in the Roman Catholic Church. Babylon is not the United States of America nor New York City, but is a type of something in there. Babylon is not the body of Christ, but is a type of something in the churches and institutions today.
The literal city of Babylon is not yet on this earth but will be during the last seven years but Spiritual Babylon is here. It is Satan's Kingdom, his empire and his realm. He is the King of Babylon.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
We all know what a deceiver Satan really is. Everything in his realm is a counterfeit of the Kingdom of God just like Babylon The Great being the counterfeit to God's Kingdom.
Rev 21:2 "the holy city, the New Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Galatians 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
The Spirits of Babylon are Satan's minons , those fallen angels who influence and control those in governments, business, institions and religions/cults across the whole world. Spiritual Babylon hates Christians and have you noticed that in all the world it is mostly Jews and Christians that are persecuted for their faith rather than those from other religions. Bible truth is Satan's greatest enemy and all through history he has done his best to destroy that bible truth.
As you read through the pages here you will see that Satan's Spiritual Babylon has inflitrated all aspects of our lives, our traditions and our churches today. It also is idolatry, the ways of the flesh, deception, arrogance, the lover of self and "I can" that we can see in the world around us. Which one day will give rise to a literal Babylon The Great or as some say New World Order. Babylon the Great will be Satan's global village.
Its a Tale of Two Cities!
Down through the ages Spiritual Babylon has been in our midst - its a world wide system and just as Nimrod wanted a one world government someday soon God will allow Satan to have a literal one on this earth for a short period of time.
Satan will be King of this Babylon the Great. While in the New Jerusalem Jesus will be the King of Kings.
Babylon the Great will be the Kingdom of Men while the New Jerusalem will be the Kingdom of God.
Babylon the Great will be decorated with gold, and precious jewel and pearls just like what the New Jerusalem is described as being.
Pride and the lust for flesh will be flourishing in the Babylon The Great while in the New Jerusalem the glory of God will shine.
Babylon The Great is self centred while the New Jerusalem will be Christ centred.
There will be bondage in Babylon The Great while in the New Jerusalem there is freedom
They are clothed in the finest linen purple and scarlet in Babylon The Great while in the New Jerusalem they will be clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Babylon the Great represents the false system of religions and traditions - The Whore while the New Jerusalem represents the True Church - The Bride.
Babylon the Great is called the "Mother of Whores" while New Jerusalem is call the "Mother of us all"
The City of Babylon will be destroyed forever while the New Jerusalem will last forever.
According to Isaiah, after Babylon ultimately is devastated, no person ever will dwell there again:
Isaiah 13:19-22 Babylon, the jewel of kingdoms, the glory of the Babylonians’ pride, will be overthrown by God like Sodom and Gomorrah. She will never be inhabited or lived in through all generations; no Arab will pitch his tent there, no shepherd will rest his flocks there. But desert creatures will lie there, jackals will fill her houses; there the owls will dwell, and there the wild goats will leap about. Hyenas will howl in her strongholds, jackals in her luxurious palaces. Her time is at hand, and her days will not be prolonged.
Many people say that Jerusalem will be that Harlot City. Jerusalem for sure will have its share of earthquakes and other devastation, but it will not be utterly and totally destroyed. It will go throught the refiners fire and be cleansed, spiritually purified, and restored (Zechariah 13:1,2). It will be inhabited after Jesus’ return (Zechariah 14:10,11). The temple of the Lord will be in Jerusalem, and the Lord will sit there on His throne to rule and reign the world in righteousness (Isaiah 2:1-4, 16:5) for 1000 years. While Babylon ultimately will be devastated, no person ever will dwell there again.
It will take 7 seals, 7 trumpets, and 7 vials of God’s wrath or 777 to finally destroy Babylon The Great!
Revelation 18:4
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying,
Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins,
and that ye receive not of her plagues.
