SHOWING YOU THE WORLD IN SCRIPTURE
Why the Turkish-Islamic Union Is Necessary
From a Muslim Perspective
The Turkish-Islamic Union is a union of love. It is a union of affection, a union of hearts. The basis of this union are love, altruism, helping others, compassion, tolerance and understanding. The aim of the union is also to achieve the highest levels in respect for human beings and in art, science and technology. Once the union is established, not just Turkish societies and Muslims, but the whole world, will attain enlightenment.
The Turkish-Islamic Union will bring peace to the world. The Turkish-Islamic Union will first and foremost resolve the disputes between Muslim countries and bring peace to the Islamic world; it will also oppose all those movements that incite war and conflict in the world as a whole, and will be a force capable of preventing all initiatives aimed at provoking war.

What truly makes the believers' union so strong is their faith and loyalty. Only genuine faith can engender true friendship and alliance. Muslims love one another with a pure heart and for the good pleasure of Allah, without the slightest selfish interest. A union built on the strongest foundation known to humanity—the fear and love of allah—will never shatter, unless allah wills otherwise.
With the founding of the Turkish-Islamic Union, America, Europe, China, Russia, Israel and in short the whole world will breathe easier. Terror will come to an end, distribution of raw materials will be guaranteed, the economic and social order will be protected and cultural conflicts will disappear entirely. America will no longer have to send troops to lands thousands of kilometers away, Israel will no longer live behind walls, the countries of the EU will encounter no economic barriers, Russia will have no more security concerns and China will have no trouble finding raw materials.
With the founding of the Turkish-Islamic Union, the West’s defense spending will fall. With its $400 billion military budget, the United States of America heads the armament list. Russia follows the USA with $60 billion, and China follows Russia with $42 billion. The Turkish-Islamic Union will give rise to a climate of global peace and security by eradicating all conflict and tensions regarding the Islamic world, and will also lead to a reduction in military spending, not just in Muslim countries, but on the part of a great many countries of the world. Investment in arms technology and money spent on weapons development will thus be diverted to such spheres as education, medicine, science and culture.
Freedom of ideas and expression are inherent in the Turkish-Islamic Union. People holding all kinds of beliefs and views will be able to express their ideas free from pressure and obstruction. These people’s rights will be protected by all means and everyone’s ideas will be met with toleration. Under the leadership of the Turkish-Islamic Union, Muslim societies will be communities in which people respect one another’s views, communities will be dominated by equality, justice and freedom, and oppression and injustice will be banished. The Islamic world will not bring peace and security to Muslims alone, but will play a leading role in global culture and civilization.
The Turkish-Islamic Union will revitalize trade and strengthen the economy. Union among Muslim countries in the economic, political and cultural arenas will permit the less developed to make rapid progress and those countries which already possess the requisite means and infrastructure to use these as efficiently as possible. Economic growth and investment in science and technology will rise. With economic development will come a natural rise in education levels, and society will make progress on a number of fronts.
The Turkish-Islamic Union will cause regeneration throughout the Muslim world. Thanks to the Islamic common market to be set up, products from one country will be easily marketed in another, without becoming caught up in quotas or national frontiers. Trade zones will grow, all Muslim countries will enjoy an increase in market share, exports will rise, leading to an acceleration of industrialization in Muslim countries, and economic development will lead to technological advances.
A Turkic-Islamic world with a powerful economy will be a major cause of prosperity for the Western world and other societies. These societies will find a power with which they can co-operate and engage in mutual trade with no feelings of concern. In addition, the funds that Western institutions and organizations constantly pour in for the region to regenerate will no longer be required, and these funds will be used to strengthen the global economy instead.
With the founding of the Turkish-Islamic Union, energy resources will be guaranteed. Under the Turkish-Islamic Union, peace and stability will prevail in regions with rich underground reserves, and the democratic system will function in a most well-ordered manner there. A model will thus emerge in which these resources are used in the most efficient manner, and neither Islamic countries nor other communities will be disadvantaged. This, in turn, will make stable and balanced political policies possible in those matters of particular importance in maintaining global economic stability, particularly oil production and prices.
The Turkish-Islamic Union will encourage art and build a magnificent civilization. Peace and security will take hold, economic problems will be resolved in the Turkic-Islamic world, and a massive cultural advancement will take place, for there will be growing budgets for education, science, and culture. As friendship and fraternal feelings will prosper, people will find more time to reflect and conduct research, and they will be more free-thinking and open-minded when they do so. Environments free of chaos, destitution, and troubles are places in which new ideas take shape, new products emerge, beneficial inventions are made, and continuing progress is achieved. The Turkish-Islamic Union will create such an environment throughout the Islamic world.
Excerpt from Adnan Oktar's Interview on the leadership of Turkey for the Turkish-Islamic Union
"There is much information in the hadith of our Prophet (saas) to the effect that the Turkish nation will undertake a very special task in the End Times. Istanbul is much noted in the hadith. The Turkish nation is the best suited, in terms of moral values and nature, to the task, and whoever you may ask is agreed on that.
The characteristic of the Turkish nation is this: it is a virtuous and religious one. It has always been the standard-bearer of Islam. Such a nation has the right to be a leader. It will justly discharge that function and be an excellent leader. But this is not a claim of any kind of racial superiority.
It is impossible for a Muslim to make such a claim. We are servants of allah. Superiority lies in taqwa (awe or fear of allah, which inspires a person to be on guard against wrong action and eager for actions which please Him). Anything else leads to fascism, infertility and evilness. allah will respond to anyone who thinks like that, and the result will be catastrophic for them. When I talk about a Turkish-Islamic Union under Turkish leadership and supported by the Turkic states, I am referring to the moral values of the Turkish nation. allah has created this nation to be very excellent and charged it with spreading justice to mankind and the world. It is a natural leader, resistant to suffering, troubles and hunger, loyal, courageous, religious, morally virtuous and honest. Anatolian people are very virtuous.
Go to the Black Sea region and you will be amazed at their moral values, or to Anatolia. Go to the South-East and you will be amazed. Words canot describe their hospitality, affection, respect, kindness and honor. You cannot find that anywhere else in the world. To sum up, first, Turkey will undertake this duty as a legacy from the Ottoman Empire. Second, the model of Islam as is lived by in Turkey is an exemplary one. The rational, enlightened and honest conception of Islam in Turkey, warm, tolerant and not at all radical, is of the greatest importance.
This is both an excellent example for the Muslim world and also an ideal model that will eliminate all doubts in Western minds. Third, all the sacred and holy relics are in Turkey. Fourth, we are at the center. We are at a key point for connecting the Turkic states and Islamic countries to Europe. We have a very-well educated and enlightened potential and are eager to assume the job. We are highly enthisiastic for it. Nobody else is as keen as us. "
H. E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister of Turkey, inaugurated the newly renovated “Holy Relics” Section of Topkapı Palace Museum in Istanbul, on 29 December 2007. The opening was also attended by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mr. Ertuğrul Günay, the Minister of Public Works and Settlement Mr. Faruk Nafiz Özak, the Minister of Environment and Forestry Mr. Veysel Eroğlu, the Governor of Istanbul Mr. Muammer Güler and the Metropolitan Mayor of Greater Istanbul Mr. Kadir Topbaş. Prime Minister Erdoğan delivered a comprehensive address, in which he underlined that all heavenly religions and beliefs uphold righteousness, justice and compassion.
He said that the collections of the Holy Relics section represent a spiritual treasure which gives Istanbul and Turkey the greatest pride to be the keeper; this treasure inherited from the three major heavenly religions is of inestimable value.
The Prime Minister said that the sacred relics of Prophet Mohammed and many other prophets kept in this section will enlighten the hearts of believers not only at present but also for the future generations; the gifts our ancestors sent to the holy places during centuries reflect the importance they gave to culture, to arts and artisans. “The door of the Kaba is here. The locks of the Kaba are here.
Turkey's Sacred and Holy Relics

It would be a big mistake to consider and to picture this history as bygone history. This place is not only a museum but the abode of a living civilization. … As a reward for loyalty to this legacy, for centuries Istanbul was the capital of our civilization. In this capital not only Muslims but the adherents of all beliefs lived in safety and security. … This place houses symbols of the search for eternal truth, history of mankind, and the sacred cause that gives humankind it humanness.
Following the address of Prime Minister Erdoğan, Dr. Halit Eren, Director General of IRCICA presented the Prime Minister with one of the latest publications of IRCICA, consisting of a facsimile edition of the copy of the Quran which is attributed to the time of Caliph Othman, the third caliph. The original copy is kept in the Topkapı Palace Museum. The edition and the accompanying scholarly study by Dr. Tayyar Altıkulaç were published by IRCICA in 2007. Mr. Ertuğrul Günay, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, Mr. Orhan Düzgün, Director of Museums, and Prof. İlber Ortaylı, Director of Topkapı Palace Museum, also gave addresses.
The relics include personal articles and garments which belonged to Prophet Mohammed and other prophets and to the companions of Prophet Mohammed. The section also houses keys and locks of the Kaba, rare manuscripts, and containers and wrappers in which the objects were carried from Mecca and Medina to Istanbul.
These objects of great religious significance are also excellent works of art. Following the conquest of Egypt by Sultan Selim I in 1517, the Caliphate passed on to the Ottomans; so were the keys of Mecca and the relics relating to the Kaba. Some of the relics were transported to Istanbul, the seat of the Caliphate, and some others were placed in the tomb of Prophet Mohammed. Precious gifts, new curtains and keys for the Kaba were sent every year from Istanbul and from other regions of the Muslim world. Thus the number and variety of the holy relics relating to the Kaba increased continuously over the centuries. Those relics to be brought to Istanbul were meticulously registered and delivered to the officials in charge of transferring them. They were preserved with utmost care and respect for centuries. The holy relics were opened for public view in 1962. source
Topkapi Palace was the residence of many Sultans and welcomed many visiting kings and ambassadors for centuries. However, what makes the palace so special is not only the former residents, but the Sacred Relics, which include personal belongings of prophets.
When Sultan Selim returned from the Egyptian campaign (1517), he brought to Istanbul the Sacred Relics from the treasuries of the Mamluk state, Abbasid Caliphate, and Hijaz Emirate.
Sultan Selim I began to collect the Sacred Relics at Topkapi Palace , and his successors continued the tradition until the beginning of the twentieth century. The sultans gathered the relics of the Prophet and other great Muslims, as well as items from respected religious sites. At the beginning of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, protecting relics from potential damage by the Wahhabis was a major concern. The Wahhabis thought those who showed reverence to objects were guilty of polytheism, so relics were sent to Istanbul for protection and care.
During World War I, when the surrender of Madina was being considered, the city's guardian, Fahreddin Pasha, sent a number of valuable gifts which had been received over the centuries, along with some Sacred Relics, to Istanbul .
Most of these are preserved in the Topkapi Palace Treasury Collection. Today, there are 605 items registered in the Topkapi Palace Museum Division of Sacred Relics. Moreover, there are many objects that can be considered Sacred Relics cataloged in the museum's treasury, arms, clothes, and library divisions.
The items that belonged to the Prophet are called Amanat (Trusts), while the items belonging to other great Muslims or sacred places are called Tabarrukat (Sacred Objects). Today, all the items are called “Sacred Relics,” but in the past they were registered as Blessed Relics ( Al-Amanat al-Mubaraka ).
The Ottomans did not attribute any holiness to material objects; yet, they were well aware that property belonging to the Messenger of God had a share of divine blessings.
Tahsin Öz wrote the following in his book Emanat-i Mukaddese [The Sacred Relics] published in 1953: “The Sacred Relics were collected thanks to various historical manifestations of fate throughout centuries. This treasure passed to Turks piece by piece by efforts motivated by faith and sometimes by fortune. It is clear that they are not only sacred objects collected and preserved with a religious bond and love, but are valuable by world standards artistically and historically as well. The care and traditional respect shown for the protection of these sacred objects so far has been infinite. As long as we exist, this sacred duty will be performed with love, respect, and honor.”
THE HOLY MANTLE
Among all sacred relics, the Holy Mantle of Prophet Muhammad holds a special place. Due to their respect for this honorable memory from the Prophet, the sultans preserved it in gold cases in the Throne Room. Therefore, the entire complex which included the Throne Room, Audience Hall, dormitory for pages, and the Treasury hosted became to be called Apartments of the Holy Mantle.
Prophet Muhammad, , met opposition and resistance when he began calling people to Islam. One of his opponents was the poet Ka‘b. After the conquest of Makka, the poet began to hide. Having been reprimanded by his brother, Ka‘b felt regret. Taking a risk, he secretly went to Madina in disguise and approached the Prophet to ask whether a person who repented his mistakes and embraced the faith would be forgiven or not. After the Messenger answered in the affirmative, the poet asked, “Even Ka‘b ibn Zuhayr?” When the Prophet affirmed this, too, Ka'b revealed his identity and began to read a poem, “Ode to the Mantle,” which would become famous. As a reward the Messenger of God took off his mantle and put it on Ka‘b ibn Zuhayr's shoulders.
COLLECTION
The collection consists of many objects, like Prophet Muhammad's mantle, standard, sandal, cup, footprint on a stone, swords, bow, his tooth that broke at Uhud, soil he used for ritual ablution, and his seal.
They also include a cooking vessel of the prophet Abraham; the turban of the prophet Joseph; the sword of the prophet David; a strand from Abu Bakr's beard; the Qur'an that is believed to be the one Caliph ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan was reading when he was assassinated; swords of the Prophet's companions; Fatima al-Zahra's blouse, veil, and mantle; her son Husayn's robe, his turban, and a piece of his mantle; Imam Abu Hanifa's robe; Uways al-Qarani's felt cap; the crowns of ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani and Imam Sharani; the bowls of Jalal al-Din al-Rumi; the gold rain gutters of the Ka‘ba; the gold and silver covers of the Black Stone; a wing of the Door of Repentance; the lock, keys, and covers of the Ka‘ba; objects like hooks, candles, censers a nd rosewater flasks which were used in the Ka‘ba or in Masjid al-Nabawi (the Prophet's Mosque); pieces of wood, stone, glass, porcelain tile, etc. used in repair of these places; covers and soil from the Prophet's tomb; and the dust called Jawhar al-Saadat [The Jewel of Bliss] which was collected while cleaning the Prophet's tomb.
There are also items used for preserving the Sacred Relics through time, or for their transport from the Ka‘ba, such as chests, drawers, covers (embroidered or plain), bundle wrappers, scabbards, and rahle s (low reading desks). In addition, there are brooms and dust pans used to clean the Privy Chamber; candles; aloe wood; framed inscriptions written by famous calligraphers or the sultans; writings describing the virtues of the Prophet ( hilya ); prayer rugs and prayer beads; copper and silver bowls; candles; dervish headgear; zamzam water pitchers; and handkerchiefs and blocks for printing on handkerchiefs.

The Rise and Fall of the Ottoman Empire
The return of Ottomanism: Neo-Ottomanism
Neo-Ottomanism
Neo-Ottomanism, the revival of the intellectual legitimacy of the Ottoman Empire, is fully at work in many of the major cities of Turkey. That being said, Istanbul most effectively demonstrates the intellectual return of Ottoman culture in our social, cultural and political lives. Within a half day of strolling around Sultanahmet one cannot but notice boards indicating Ottoman clubs, foundations that research Ottoman studies or other signs of a distinct revival of our Ottoman past.
Last week I noticed that the Turkish Armed Forces now own up to the Ottoman coat of arms, for years a sign of Islamism/Ottomanism, now most visibly demonstrated with stickers on cars throughout Turkey's major cities. Turkish army museums now freely display the Ottoman coat of arms as part of our military/state heritage. These are of course very healthy signs. Yet, these were anathema only a decade ago, when symbols of our Ottoman heritage were still regarded as signs of backwardness or dangerously Islamic. source
Turkish PM Shows New Foreign-Policy Assertiveness At Davos
Turkey's New Approach
Others note that Erdogan's outburst may reflect increasing frustration over other issues -- like the refusal of the European Union to issue an invitation for Turkey to become an EU member, or the International Monetary Fund's rejection earlier on January 29 of Erdogan's attempts to obtain fresh loans to help with Turkey's economic crisis.
But others wonder if Erdogan's rhetoric is part of a calculated effort to redefine Turkey's relationship with Israel while, at the same time, trying to assert a more dominant regional role as a mediator in disputes with the Arab world.
Since the Israeli offensive in Gaza began, Erdogan has talked by phone to Hamas's political leader in Gaza, Ismail Haniyah. He also has been in touch with Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad -- as well as with his contacts with Israel and the West -- to try to broker a Gaza cease-fire.
Those moves are part of a policy that has become a hallmark of Erdogan's government in recent years -- for Ankara to take a greatly heightened regional profile after decades of seeing its interests almost exclusively in Europe.
Because this foreign policy gives new attention to neighboring Arab states whose land was once part of the Ottoman Empire, some political commentators in Turkey speak of it as "neo-Ottomanism." That foreign-policy course also has included stepped-up diplomatic initiatives toward Greece and in the Caucasus.
Earlier on January 29, when Erdogan was taking part in a panel titled "The Great Game Revisited," the panel moderator praised moves by Turkey at earlier Davos forums to improve relations with Greece. source
Neo-Ottomanism and Kemalist foreign policy
This more flexible mindset, in turn, leads to the second characteristic of neo-Ottomanism: a sense of grandeur and self-confidence in foreign policy. Neo-Ottomanism sees Turkey as a regional superpower. Its strategic vision and culture reflects the geographic reach of the Ottoman and Byzantine empires. Turkey, as a pivotal state, should thus play a very active diplomatic, political and economic role in a wide region of which it is the "center."
The third aspect of neo-Ottomanism is its goal of embracing the West as much as the Islamic world. Like the imperial city of İstanbul, which straddles Europe and Asia, neo-Ottomanism is Janus-faced. source
Islamists Approach Europe
Turkey's Islamist Danger
Since their electoral landslide victory in November 2002, Islamists within Turkey's Justice and Development Party (Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi, AKP) have camouflaged themselves as "democratic Islamic conservatives." The AKP claims to be the Muslim equivalent of the Christian-Democratic parties of Western Europe. Such an analogy is false, however. What the AKP seeks is not "Islam without fear," to borrow the phrase of Trinity College professor Raymond Baker, but rather a strategy for a creeping Islamization that culminates in a Shari‘a (Islamic law) state not compatible with a secular, democratic order. The AKP does not advertise this agenda and often denies it. source
Why Neo-Ottomanism is bad for Turkey
During the Cold War, Turkish conservatism was anti-communist. Today it is xenophobic. The West would hate to see it, but religion as a pillar of foreign policy risks pushing Turkey into radicalism. source
"Erdogan Aspires to be Turkey's Putin"
Erdogan's disdain for press independence rivals the Kremlin's. He has sued more journalists than any predecessor, and has leaned on the owners of media outlets to rein in editors. Those who do not abide the prime minister's wishes face consequences. source

The Furious Passage of Tayyip Erdogan
Unfortunately the Turkish prime mnister has a track record of shooting himself in the foot, which, if the sport became an Olympic discipline, would guarantee him a number of gold medals.
At the EU summit in Copenhagen in December, 2002, when Turkey tried to press the EU to fix a date for starting accession talks, European leaders were shocked by Turkey’s “blackmail campaign”, and one prime minister called Erdogan’s behaviour “very counter-productive”. The French prime minister, Jacques Chirac, a representative of Old Europe, told a summit dinner: “It’s not enough to respect European law, you also have to be polite and civilized”.
At the EU summit two years later, when Turkey was finally given a starting date, Luxembourg’s foreign minister, Jean Asselborn, declared “We were gobsmacked”, when at the end of the summit Erdogan suddenly refused to recognize Cyprus. The summit was almost derailed, and Erdogan’s volte-face caused Asselborn to remark: “We are not carpet dealers here in Europe.”
The Danish prime minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, also experienced the Turkish leader’s abrasive style when Erdogan paid an official visit to Denmark in November 2005. After lunch there should have been a joint press conference, but when Erdogan learned that there would be a representative of the Kurdish tv station, Roj-tv, present, he immediately left for the airport, leaving Fogh Rasmussen to stand alone on the podium like an abandoned bride at the altar.
A fortnight ago Tayyip Erdogan paid his first visit to Brussels since the EU summit in December 2004 to revive Turkey’s flagging hopes of EU membership, but he immediately started off on the wrong foot. In a thinly veiled threat he informed the European Commission that he would review his support for the Nabucco gas pipeline if Cyprus continued to block the opening of the energy chapter of its accession talks. José Manuel Barroso, the EU Commission’s president, dismissed any connection between the two issues, and Erdogan, backtracking, declared that the project had enjoyed Turkey’s full support “all the time”.
At the same time Erdogan used his Brussels visit to express his support for Hamas, and called on Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas and the whole world to respect the election results as the will of the people “so that democracy could win in the Palestinian Autonomy and not to satisfy Mahmoud Abbas”. source
The Praise for Erdogan
On Friday morning, many people gathered in front of Erdoğan’s house in Istanbul’s Üsküdar district shouting, "Turkey is proud of you." As Erdoğan went to the Büyük Piyalepaşa Mosque in Istanbul’s Kasımpaşa, for Friday’s midday prayer, a crowd shouted slogans praising Erdoğan. Many neighboring houses were draped in Turkish flags. Erdoğan also won praise from Gazans for the show of support and his public quarrel with Israeli President Shimon Peres.
In the Gaza refugee camp of Jebaliya, Turkish flags decorated the ruins of a local mosque that was destroyed during the recent war against Gaza's Hamas rulers and locals gathered to hear people speak, the Associated Press reported.
A preacher told worshippers at an outdoor service at the ruined mosque Friday that Erdoğan "raised the head of the Islamic nation." Jalal Bin Yousef al-Sharifi called on other Muslim leaders to do the same.
Palestinians carried the Turkish flag along side Palestinian ones. Speakers cried: "The people of Gaza love Turkey" and "The people of Gaza are with you and love you." A photo of Erdoğan is erected on the stage after the speeches were over. The Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas also hailed Erdoğan on Friday for his altercation with Peres. source

Erdogan's Davos Outburst Is Nothing New
And it may get him what he wants.
Temper tantrums are not new for the 54-year-old Islamist leader, who rose to prominence through grass-roots politics--despite efforts by the secular Turkish establishment--and seems to have won over the masses with his unique combination of conservatism and street smarts.
He was greeted to a hero's welcome back in Istanbul a few hours later as thousands of supporters, angry not only at Israel's 22-day Gaza offensive against fellow Muslims but also at years of being snubbed by Europeans who deemed Turkey unfit for membership in their union. They chanted, "We are proud of you," and some signs read "Conqueror of Davos!" One man in the crowd said Erdogan "had woken up a giant that has been sleeping for a hundred years."
Such is Turkey's complex legacy of having once been an empire across three continents, under the Ottomans, and losing it over a few decades. Modern Turkey is a secular republic and an integral part of the Western alliance, but the Erdogan government's efforts to increase Turkey's sphere of influence eastward, into the Middle East and Asia, has stirred up some ancient longing for an imperial global role here. Erdogan, tall and charismatic, has bestowed upon Turks what Vladimir Putin gave Russians: a lost sense of pride.
But the Turkish premier's angry outbursts are of course very different from Putin's silent, calculating steps to revive the Russian empire. Here we call Erdogan "Kasimpasali," from Kasimpasa, in reference to the high-crime neighborhood where he grew up. (It's sort of like saying "he's is from the 'hood.") Never one to master anger management since being elected to his second term in 2007 with a 47% vote, Erdogan has increasingly become more belligerent, lashing out at reporters, columnists, aides or members of the business community.
Nothing is more intimidating to a journalist or businessman than having the prime minister publicly condemning you or calling you a liar, and so Peres, too, must have felt thrown off when he was called in front of a global audience "old" and a "killer" by Erdogan, and later a "liar" by the Turkish leader's wife, Emine Erdogan.
Temper tantrums often pay off, traumatizing the other side rather than the person who loses control. Westerners hate public confrontation; Erdogan thrives on it. Here in Turkey each of his outbursts has increased Erdogan's aura of awe and authority. With public rebuke or court cases against members of media, he has effectively silenced major criticism of his policies.
Years ago, I had an interview with a junior Islamist parliamentarian who had a very well-articulated position on why he opposed Turkey's European Union membership. He said to me, "Would you rather be the last of the wolves or the first of the lambs? In Europe, we are the last of wolves. For the Middle East, we can be a leader."
At the time, this was seen as a crazy idea. My newspaper ran a story "Ottoman Dream," saying Islamists were trying to revive an Ottoman past. The parliamentarian was called Abdullah Gul. Today, he is Turkey's president, a largely symbolic post he attained with Erdogan's backing.
Under Erdogan's leadership, AKP has not only emerged as the strongest force in Turkey but has also altered the secular republic's foreign policy orientation away from the West to a more multipronged regional leadership role. During the recent crisis in Gaza, Erdogan has led the most vocal opposition to Israel from the Muslim world, even going so far as to become an unofficial spokesman for Syria and Hamas. Turkey today values its relationships with Russia, Iran and the Arab world almost on equal footing with its traditional ties to Israel and the West.
I imagine Erdogan's Davos performance will eventually have a cost in terms of Turkey's alliance with Israel, Europe and Washington, but will make him a hero in the Muslim world.
And that may just be what he wants after all. source
Erdogan's Middle East Diplomacy: A New Nasser in the Making?
“Erdogan is not a man of words; he is a man of action. Erdogan! I thank you for your courage at a time when everybody prefers to keep silent," wrote Ramadan Ahmet Muhammad, a regular reader of Al Jazeera news. Another enthusiastic reader, Muhammad Ataullah Uthman, said he raised his hat to Erdogan’s remarks and called for the Turkish prime minister to continue efforts to gather all Arabs and Muslims under the flag of Turkey. Khalid Ahmed al-Aydi says, "Oh G-d! Help Islam and the Muslims with this bold man. He is not afraid of anyone but G-d. Help him in his efforts for the Muslim community and a strong Turkey. I would like so much for all Muslims to be united under the flag of this man against the enemies of Islam" (Today’s Zaman, January 9).......
Erdogan’s popularity was not limited to the man in the street, however. Arab intellectuals have also shown their support for Erdogan’s efforts and statements about the Israeli offensive in Gaza. Syrian Journalist, Husnu Mahalli, who writes for the Turkish daily Aksam, said that with his point of view, Erdogan would receive 90 percent of the vote if he established a party in Syria or Egypt.....
Jordanian columnist Hamadeh Faraneh said:
Arabs were moved on two fronts: By the sensitivity the Turkish nation showed to the passion of the Palestinian people and by the historical and official stance of the Turkish government in the face of Israel and its readiness to help the Palestinian people, both materially and spiritually. Today, Turkey overcame the memories of World War I. I can say that since World War I, Turkey's image in the Arab world has never been better (Today’s Zaman, January 7).
Erdoğan wins praises from Arabs for stance against Israel
"I attest that Erdoğan is a bold man at a time when it is hard to find someone courageous. Turks and their prime minister displayed an honorable stance. Thank you, sir. I thank you, the prime minister of Turkey. And I thank you all, the public of Turkey," noted Hani Saleh.
Another reader, who used the nickname "May G-d send blessings upon the Ottoman Empire," expressed longing for an Ottoman Empire that could protect Muslims against all violence and threats, saying: "If the Ottoman Empire existed today, none of this violence would happen. Turks are proving their support for peace and justice once again. Their voice is heard all around the world, more than the voice of Arab countries." source

Erdogan for Khalifa?
from a muslim forum
The Turkish Prime Minister returned yesterday to Istanbul from Davos after a strong protest against the Israeli atrocities in Gaza.
He is one of the few democratically elected Muslim leaders with strength, charisma, diplomacy, popularity and political skills which should be in a Muslim Khalifa.
Muslims around the world need a Khalifa more than any other time, and Mr. Erdogan is an excellent candidate.
Would you vote for him to be the first official Muslim Khalifa of the 21st. century?

WHEN WE ASK ‘WHO SHOULD BE THE LEADER?’ IN THE ISLAMIC WORLD, EVERYONE SAYS THE TURKS, THEY ALL SAY TURKEY SHOULD BE THE LEADER.
Nobody says that Egypt should be the leader, or Iran, and they have no such pretensions themselves. They insist the Turks should do it. That is also what our Prophet (saas) says. Turkey is where the Hazrat Mahdi (as) will appear, all the portents of the End Times center around Turkey, and they all refer to Istanbul. The hadith about Hazrat Mahdi (as) all refer to Istanbul, by the name of Konstantiniyye, which then assumed the name Istanbul. We can also see from other accounts that Turkey will fulfill this great duty; it is the proper nation to do so, and that is no exaggeration, just the truth. That is why I believe that the time has come. The latest developments all indicate that.

The Return of the Ottoman Empire?
5th Feb 2009
The only way one can explain the heated return of “Ottoman” Turkey to the Middle East quagmire is as the setting up of a suitable position for the Turkish Fez in the new Middle East division.
This is what some Turkish intellects have argued according to Serkan Taflioglu, a researcher of Middle East affairs at ASAM, the Center for Eurasian Strategic Studies in Ankara. “Heated Turkish political movements dealing with Middle East issues, which have increased over the past few months, are based on the Turkish belief that the future of developments in the Middle East will depend, to a large extent, on the kind of relationship that exists between Iran and the US over the next couple of years,” said Taflioglu. Moreover, he indicated that Turkey’s deep involvement is motivated by Ankara’s desire to assume its natural role in the region in accordance with its power and interests. But as Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Recep Erdogan speaks about the children in Gaza who are being slaughtered, we know that feelings alone are not the driving force behind political activity.
Turkey is now turning towards its Ottoman past after neglecting it for so long; not in order to restore its former glories as some naïve and nostalgic supporters of Islamic parties might believe, but rather to establish an effective presence for the Turkish state that suits its historical, political and economic significance in the region.
Like Iran, Turkey has an imperialistic past in our region. The only empire that contended with Ottoman Turkey over power in the region was Safavid Iran. Ferocious battles took place in the ruthless confrontation between the Ottomans and the Safavids, and Iraq itself was one of their battlefields. Baghdad fell under the rule of the Safavid Persian Shah and then would be conquered by the Ottoman Turkish Sultan. Much of the vehement sectarianism that we witness today is a product of that ancient and fierce imperialistic conflict between Iran and Turkey, or the Safavids and the Ottomans, or the Sunnis and the Shia. In the end however, it was a confrontation in which the Arabs did not play a fundamental role; they were marginal to the situation.
The Arab masses have demonstrated support for Erdogan and it is most likely that they are the same people who live on Muslim Brotherhood dogmas or those who have been impressed by them. This support increases whenever the public remembers that Erdogan reminded Israel that he is a descendant of the Ottomans. When we hear this, our minds run wild and we conjure up the image of Mehmet II the Conqueror returning to the gates of Tel Aviv and the return of the Ottoman Sultan. We imagine that Erdogan has awoken Turkey from its deep sleep and hoisted the flag of the Ottomans once again. All these dreams, which our fellow citizens in our Arab countries use to heal their wounds, do not necessarily represent the objectives of Turkey, the NATO member state, which is pushing to be part of the European Union.
Quote:
The intensity of support for Erdogan, the new Ottoman Sultan, reached its peak after the incident that took place at the Davos Economic Forum..................
Turkey believes that it is more capable than Iran to deal with the issues of Palestine and Lebanon firstly because it is also a predominantly Sunni country and secondly because of its nostalgia for the Ottoman state. Such longing is continually backed by the Muslim Brotherhood and some fundamentalist parties. However, this longing does not exist amongst nationalist movements or the Levant Arabs, or perhaps the Salafists of the Arab Peninsula who do not have fond memories of the Turkish Ottoman oppression.
The Muslim Brotherhood says that the collapse of the Ottoman Caliphate in Turkey is one of the reasons that it exists (Saad Hawi, a Syrian Muslim Brotherhood figure, in his book entitled ‘Hedi Tajribati wa Hedi Shahadati’, p37).
Because of long-standing nostalgia, the ailment of political legitimacy that they believe has been absent since the fall of the Ottoman Caliphate, the antagonism with Arab countries, and Iran’s attack on Arab countries that oppose the radical Iranian bloc, we now see the Brotherhood exaggerating its praise of Erdogan after it failed to publicize Khamanei and Ahmadinejad in the Arab world because of the sensitive issue of sectarianism, which is a fundamental part of the ailing culture in the region. source
Caliphate? One Minute, One Minute…
"Erdoğan made us proud as Muslims. We are ashamed of being Arab because of our timid leaders who remain silent to Israeli cruelty. Erdoğan saved our honor and respect. The Ottoman state should be rebuilt. Erdoğan should be declared sultan and caliph. He should lead the Muslim world."
"His Excellency the Caliph has been found; we need to find a camel immediately." source
A CALL FOR AN ISLAMIC UNION
or transcript can be read:
The hadith literature is the foremost source that reveals the Islamic world's bright future. This literature, which describes in great detail the nature of the End Times (the period before the Last Day), reveals that these signs bear a great resemblance to events taking place right now. The most prominent signs are that people seek to distance themselves from the purpose of their creation and, consequently, participate in society's spiritual break-down by altering God's law, openly denying God's existence, spreading chaos and disorder around the world, and increasing decadence. Other signs include frequent natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes and floods, droughts and famines); increasing warfare, conflict, and bloodshed; emergence of bid'ats (innovation, changing the original teaching of the Prophet); widespread poverty; astonishing and shocking events; and the almost complete disappearance of contentment and stability. In the End Times, murder, killing, and fighting will intensify, and the oppression of Muslims will worsen. In addition, Muslims living during this time will be subjected to such violence and tyranny that most of them will not be able to find a way out of the cruel environment in which they live.
Following this difficult and chaotic period, God will send a holy savior, the Mahdi (one who guides to the righteous path), who will deliver people from the darkness of ignorance into the light of true knowledge. This holy person will first enlighten the Islamic world and then bring peace, love, and morality to the entire world. With his arrival, all anti-religious ideologies that deny God's existence will be completely refuted, religious morality will be returned to its original pure state, as revealed by the Qur'an and the hadiths, and the Islamic world will gain economic, political, and social power.

Turkish Islamic Union
The most important feature of the Turkish-Islamic Union is that it embraces Jews, Christians, Armenians and Orthodox Christians with love and affection and respects their religions and beliefs, regarding them as brothers, and produces policies aimed toward their territorial integrity, security, prosperity and well-being.
THE TURKISH-ISLAMIC UNION, now and without delay, through a courageous, determined, honest, compassionate and loving approach.
Did you know that some of the pieces from the Black Stone of the Kaaba at Mecca found their way to Istanbul?
THE GREEN FLAG OF THE PROPHET
A UNIVERSAL SUMMONS--ITS ORIGIN- AN EMBLEM OF EXTERMININATION
This article appeared in the Thursday, November 22,1877 edition of the Zanesville Daily Courier, Zanesville Ohio
From Chambers Journal
Since the commencement of war between Russia and Turkey, the world has several times been startled by the announcement that the "Flag of the prophet" was about to be unfurled in the streets of Stanbul. Such an event, if it should happen (which may Heaven avert), would proclaim a crusade in which all true Musslemans would be bound to take an active part and to fight against Christianity in every part of the world. They may be in India, Arabia, Egypt or wherever else their scattered race has found a home; the raising of the green standard is a call in which none may disobey without, as the Koran lays it down, sacrificing all his hopes of Paradise.
This fearful appeal to all the worst passions of the Eastern races hangs like a menace over the Mohammedan world; and if the word was once uttered and the dreadful flag unfurled, there is no telling to what sanguinary excesses it might lead an enthusiastic people. If may be of interest to our readers if, under these circumstances, we endevour to make them acquainted with the origin and history of a banner that has not seen the light of day since the Empress Catherine of Russia attempted to reinstate Christianity in the city of the Sultans, and which once unfurled would set the world ablaze.
There has been many flags and symbols used by various nations at different crises in their history to incite the people to battle on behalf of religions, dynasties and ideas; but none has attained to the fearful notoriety which appertains to the terrible flag of the prophet; which is really a banner of blood, for it dispels the idea of mercy from the minds and hearts of its followers and gives no quarter to man, woman or child.
The Red Cross banner of the Christian Crusaders was an emblem of chivalry, mercy, gentleness and love; but under its folds many a dark deed and many a shameless act were committed; and it was understood by the members of the Mohammedan faith to mean nothing less than the utter extermination of their race. This feeling, with its consequent hatred of Christianity, shows itself even at this advanced period in the world's history, by the recent refusal of the Turkish Government to allow its ambulance corps and hospitals to bear the red cross of the Geneva Convention ( a sign which is entirely neutral and is designed to protect its wearers while they are engaged in their errands of mercy to the sick and wounded on both sides), adopting instead thereof their own emblem of the crescent. Thus we see these rival emblems once more waving over the scene of battle, though, happpily, mitigate rather than increase the horrors of war.
In France the "oriflamme' or golden sun upon a field crimson signified "no quarter!" But this celebrated flag of the Prophet means infinately more than this. It is a summons to an anti- Christian crusade, a challenge of every believer in the Prophet to arms; a war signal, in fact, which like the fiery cross of Scotland, would flash its dread command through the domain of Islam. In the interest of humanity, however, we may hope that "Commander of the Faithfull" will never utter the dreadful word; for then, indeed, would the whole soul, and strength of Christendom turn against the enemy of all civilized laws, human and divine.
The prophet himself predicted that one day, when his followers should number 100,000,000- which they do now with 20,000,000 more added to it- his flag should fly against the advancing power of the northern races; and the Koran Mohammedan Bible says that when its silken folds are flung forth "the earth will shake, the mountain melt into dust, the seas blaze up in fire, and the childrens hair grows white with anguish." This language is of course metaphorical; but it is easy to conceive, by the light of very recent history, that some such catastrophe might take place, as the displaying of this terrible symbol would raise a frenzy of fanaticism in the breast of the Mohammedan race all over the globe.
The origin of the insignia is a curious one. Mohammed gazing out upon a vast prospect of field, said: " Nature is green and green shall be may emblem, for it is everlasting and universal."
Of course in time, however, it lost that innocent significance; and amid his great visions the great dreamer saw the Green Flag floating as a sign that all true believers should take up their arms and march against the Infidels, in fact the green turban was the sacred headress of the pilgrim or perfected Islamite who had gone to Mecca; and hence the sanctity of this formidable standard.
When once unfurled, it summons all Islam by an adjuration from the Koran that the sword is the solitary emblrm and instrument of faith, independence and patriotism; that armies, not priests, make converts and that sharpened steel is the "true key to heaven and hell". Upon that fearful ensign are inserted the words which are supposed to have been written at Mecca itself- namely, "all who draw it (the sword) will be rewarded with temporal advantages, every drop shed of their blood, every peril and hardship endured by them, will be registered on high as being more meritorious than either fasting or prayer. If they fall in battle, their sins will be at once blotted out, and they will be trasnported to Paradise, there to revel in eternal pleasure in the arms of black-eyed hours (sp). But for the first heaven are reserved for the faithful who die within sight of the Green Flag of the Prophet" Then follow the terrible and all-significant words, the fearful war-cry against God and man, "Then may no man give or expect mercy."
This is the outburst of barbarism with which the world is threatened in this year of grace, 1877; and the reader cannot do otherwise than mark the cunning nature of the portentous works inscribed on the prophets banner. What would not most men do, civilized or savage, for "temporal advantages"? While to the eastern people fasting and praying, are looked upon as of so meritorious a nature, than to find something else which, in the eyes of Allah, would be desideratum which none would fail to grasp by any means whatever, if it came within its reach. But Mohammed's wonderful knowledge of human nature, is shown in his picture of Paradise as prepared for the faithful who fall in battle while his declaration that the highest heaven in this so called Paradise will be reserved for those who die within sight of the Green Flag, is a masterpiece of devilish policy unequalled in the annals of mankind.
It scarcely needed the fearful words which follow, to add emphasis to this dreadful appeal to the passions of a semi-barbarous race. Another motto on this sacred flag is not without significance at the present time; "The gates of Paradise are under the shade of swords;" and this alone would, if the flag were unfurled in the Holy Mosque of Constaninople, give to the Turk a moral power over his subordinates the effect of which it would be vain to calculate. Civilized though he partially is , he still firmly believes in the old doctine of kismet or fatality, and in angels fighting on his behalf; not less implicitly than did his ancestors at the Battle of Bender, where this formidable green standard was first unfurled, "There," says the historian, "they elevated the standard which Mohammed from his height in heaven blessed."
Thus arose the great tradition of this sacred war emblem, which, it is a Turkish boast, was never yet captured in battle, though it was once in extreme peril in a fight between hill and plain, when Mohammed himself had it snatched out of his hands. Ali, his kinsman, however, thrust himself in front of a hundred spears and won the victory with the immaculate flag flying over his head.
It is scarcely to be wondered at that a race so superstitous as the Turks should attach an almost miraculous value to to such a symbol of their past history and their present power. It is a spell wherever their race or religion flourishes, and its invocation in the serious form now menaced cannot be regarded without anxiety. The day of the military apostles of Mohammed may be past, it is true, but the tradition survives; and the unfurling of this flag might be the spark which would set fire to the latent enthusiasm of the Mohammedan race and involve the world in a religious war.
We have referred to the great French banner, the oriflamme, and it was that which led the french Crusaders through the Holy Land and headed the royal armies of France in the campaigns of the sixteenth century, while it also divided the Blue from the White in the Burgundian civil wars ; but this flag of the Prophet today exercises a magical influence over 120,000,000 of the human race, scattered about in Arabia, Syria, Asia Minor, Persia and Egypt, over the Nile and the Ganges, and from Jerusalem to the Red Sea.
The desire of Mohammed, however, was, that all the pilgrims whose tasks had been duly fulfilled should wear the green turban, no sovereign in his succession should unfurl the Green Flag of the Faith unless Islam were in imminent peril. The unfurling of the banner would be performed with great religious ceremony, and in the presence of the Commander of the Faithful who is himself supposed to carry it at the head of its army; while a fearful curse would be called down upon the head of every Mohammedan who, capable of bearing arms, failed to rally around it.
The standard itself is not a very handsome one, and is surpassed in value and appearance by many of the banners which belong to the various benefit societies and other mutual associations of men in this country. It is of green silk, with a large crescent on the top of the staff, from which is suspended a long plume of horsehair (said to have been the tail of the prophet's Arab steed), while the broad folds of flag exhibit the crescent and the quotations from the Koran already mentioned.
The state color of one of our regiments of the guards is a much prettier and more expensive banner of Islam, but (to such small things is man's enthusiasm attached) if the latter was the veriest 'rag' in existence nothing could mar the beauty which the prestige of more than a thousand years has given to it in the eyes of a Musselman.
The Flag of the Prophet is kept in the mosque of St Sophia at Constantinople, and is in the custody of the Sheik ul-Islam, or Mohammedan chief-priest, where all well wishers of humanity may sincerely trust it will ever remain.

Chamber of Sacred Relics - Mohammed's Green Banner
"The Banner of the Prophet (Mahomet) : What purports to be the actual standard of Mahomet (Mohammed) is preserved in the Eyab Mosque of Constantinople (now Istanbul). It is called the Sinjaqu 'sh sharif. It is made of four layers of silk, the top-most being green, embroidered with gold. In times of peace it is guarded in the hall of the 'noble vestment' as the dress worn by the prophet is styled. In the same hall are preserved the sacred teeth, the holy beard, the sacred stirrup, the sabre and bow of Mahomet."
Brewer's Dictionary (1894)
'Green flag of Allah will fly over Vatican'
"The day will soon come when the green flag of La Illah Illah Allah (There is no god but Allah) and Muhammad Rasul Allah (Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah) will be raised upon the Vatican and all around the world and on the fortresses of those who want to destroy Islam, because they know that this religion obliges them to face the truth that Islam is Allah's favorite religion. And until they join Islam, hell is their last station," Abu Saqer said. source
"The raising of the green standard is a call which none may disobey, without sacrificing, as the Koran calls it, all hopes of Paradise.
It is a summons to an anti-Christian crusade, a challenge of every believer in the Prophet to arms; a war-signal in fact, which, like the fiery cross of Scotland, would flash its dread command through the domain of Islam. In the interests of humanity, however, we may hope that the "commander of the faithful" will never utter the dreadful word; for then indeed would the whole soul and strength of Christendom turn against the enemy of all civilized laws, human and divine.

Littell's article - 1878.

Some say that if the Green Flag of Muhammad is ever raised again from Turkey then that is a sign that the Muslim world is at war with Christians!

This is a union of hearts. IN THE TURKISH-ISLAMIC UNION I AM THINKING OF, ALL COUNTRIES WILL REMAIN NATION STATES. This is a union of hearts, of love and a shared reason. To take a joint decision and eradicate terror when it arises somewhere, for instance, or to take a joint decision and thus resolves an economic crisis. Great love is essential. Intense enthusiasm is essential. These things cannot be produced by red tape, but by fervor and enthusiasm. In other words, you need love to extend a helping hand to another country, to take a common decision when terror raises its head anywhere...

"“I tell you in all honesty that in a maximum of 10 years there will be extraordinary events insha’Allah and I stand by my words. We will have very pleasant consequences. But we should strengthen our fraternal bonds. We should be very sincere. We should fear Allah very much, love Him very much and well understand the Qur’an. We shall be loyal to the state, loyal to our nation and expanders rather than contractors, fiercely opposed to being divided. The course of events is excellent. Our nation is excellent, Turkey is excellent and our people are excellent. And the final outcome, insha’Allah, will also be excellent.”

The Turkish Islamic Union is about to happen insha’Allah. We will unite with Azerbaijan. We will unite with Syria, Iraq, Turkmenistan and East Turkestan. A great Turkish-Islamic world will be formed insha’Allah. We are on its eve. There will be many important developments in the next 10 years at the latest, We will all see them insha’Allah.

“The liberation of Palestine is down to us. And the salvation of Israel. Israel will be able to relax with us. Armenia, Turkistan, Tajikistan, Iran and Pakistan will all attain salvation with us at the helm. Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria will jump for joy if Turkey becomes leader. THAT IS WHY WE MUST DELAY NO LONGER. TURKEY MUST ACTIVELY WANT THE JOB. Nobody will object. Nobody will stand up and say they refuse to accept if Turkey asks for the job. It is something everyone wants.”
source: Konya TV, February 2008
I even think that Israel will be able to relax and trade freely and to the fullest extent in the region. There is step by step progress in that direction. I believe this target will be achieved in the near future. They will also find things easier and attain salvation within the Turkish-Islamic Union because Israel will be under the protection of the Turkish-Islamic Union. It will be freed from the problem of terror, from violence. Its walls will be torn down. At the moment, Israel is a kind of prison. It is surrounded by walls on all sides. Those walls will be brought down. Israel will be able to relax and trade with the region with no difficulty. The pressure on it will be lifted. And therefore the pressure that Israel puts on Muslim states, on Muslims countries, will also be lifted. An age of total peace and security will dawn. That is why I can say that the immediate establishment of the Turkish-Islamic Union is the main and foremost question facing the world.

You will not be able to recognize the Turkey of the future. It will literally be a regional super-power, as a result of which Israel will be saved, Armenia will be in a better position, Palestine will be in a good position, and Israel will enjoy a peace and security it has never known before in its history. The Palestinian problem will be completely resolved. Turkey is the key to all this. And there is open demand for it. In other words, Iraq also wants it. Iraq in fact wants to unite with Turkey. In the same way, Syria also wants to unite with Turkey and wants Turkish administration. But as separate states, of course. They want Turkey to take over as a spiritual leader. And when Turkey puts it…

Quotes from Adan Oktar - Harun (Aaron) Yahya (John)
Harun Yahya & Joel Richardson
"I wanted him to articulate his vision with regard to the coming of the Mahdi and his call for a Turkish Led Islamic Union. Only a small portion of the interview was edited out. Several significant issues were discussed. Surprising to me was the fact that Adnan has developed a very friendly relationship with the Israel Sanhedrin Rabbis who also are surprisingly very much in favor of this Turkish led Islamic Union. Most notable is Mr. Oktar’s friendship with Rabbi Menachem Fromen. Also of interest is Mr. Oktar’s call to rebuild the Jewish Temple.
Joel asks "do you ever wonder would you ever hope that you yourself are the Mahdi?
" when the Mahdi comes, he will rebuilt the Masjid of Suleyman (Temple of Soloman), the Palace of Solomon in Jerusalem… that the Temple Mount will in essence be shared with Muslims and Jews as well. Could you tell me a little bit about this?"
"I was also interested to learn just before I came that the very influential Rabbi Menachem Froman had spoken with George Mitchell, the Middle East envoy from the Obama administration and that he had personally appealed to Mr. Mitchell to utilize you as a significant peace negotiator for the Middle East. Would you be willing to share a bit about these things?"

Statement of Jerusalem Court - The Sanhedrin
Jerusalem Court for Issues of Bnei Noah
9th Tammuz, 5769 (July 1, 2009)
From June 30 – July 3, 2009, representatives of the Jerusalem Court for Bnei Noah met with Mr. Adnan Oktar, also known as Harun Yahya. Two statements were prepared, one from the Jerusalem Court, one from Mr. Oktar.
Rabbi Hollander, Abrahamson and Rahimi with Adnan Oktar
Why are we here
1) We have come here, at the gracious invitation of Mr. Adnan Oktar, otherwise known as Harun Yahya, to look for contacts within the Islamic community. We have heard that Harun Yahya is making an intellectual struggle against atheist ideologies to increase belief and oppose corruption and violence in the world. Just as we look forward to the times of Mashiach, when harmony and peace will rule, we understand that his picture of the world of the Mahdi is one in which all nations return to belief and submission to the Almighty Creator and Ruler of the Universe. We understand that Harun Yahya, as we also, looks forward to the time when the Children of Israel become more devout, worshiping as G-d commanded, in the land that G-d commanded, in the manner which G-d commanded.
Our common agenda is clear: we live in a time of conflict, violence, extreme fanaticism and extreme laxity. A time when our children are caught up in senseless violence and hatred. Righteous Jews and non-Jews must oppose this. It is the obligation of each and every individual to follow the commandments of G-d, sincerely and with perfect faith. We call on the righteous of all nations to speak to their people and return them to the covenant G-d has made with all mankind.

Plan of peace
Out of a sense of collective responsibility for world peace and for all humanity we have found it timely to call to the World and exclaim that there is a way out for all peoples. It is etched in a call to all humanity: We are all the sons of one father, the descendants of Adam, and all humanity is but a single family. Peace among Nations will be achieved through building the House of G-d, where all peoples will serve Him, pray to Him, and offer sacrifices according to the visions of the prophets, as foreseen by King Solomon in his prayers at the dedication of the First Holy Temple. Come let us love and respect one another, and love and honor and hold our heavenly Father in awe. Let us establish a house of prayer in His name in order to worship and serve Him together, for the sake of His great compassion. He surely does not want the blood of His creations spilled, but prefers love and peace among all mankind. We pray to the Almighty Creator, that you hearken to our Call. Together - each according to his or her ability - we shall work towards the building of the House of Prayer for All Nations on the Temple Mount in peace and mutual understanding.
All children are born bound to this universal faith, but later they may take on the customs and traditions and religion of their parents. This universal faith is known by several names… This will be done by forming an alliance of all conscientious people, namely, the righteous among Christians and Muslims, along with devout Jews, who will come together and unite in this common cause. Out of a sense of collective responsibility for world peace and for all humanity we have found it timely to call to the World and exclaim that there is a way out for all peoples. It is etched in a call to all humanity: We are all the sons of one father, the descendants of Adam, and all humanity is but a single family.
You can read all about the visit to Turkey by the Sanhedrin here. Most of the information on this meeting has now been taken down by the Sanhedrin and the Harun Yahya site until a further meeting of the Sanhedrin takes place.

The words of Harun Yahya (Adnan Oktar)
We all believe in the one Allah, have the same conceptions of what is lawful and unlawful, love the same prophets, are all descended from the Prophet Abraham (pbuh), love and fear Allah and strive to earn His approval, mercy and Paradise.
It is out of the question for us not to collaborate together at a time when atheists, materialists and the irreligious are waging such a powerful campaign against believers. That would be to serve satan’s ends, may Allah forbid. Of course we shall work together, tell people of the existence and oneness of Allah and call them to His love with love and affection. We shall expose the insoluble dilemmas of Darwinism. What could be easier than for us to collaborate and be friends? We have many common values, so how can we not work together?
What will make Muslims happy is to ensure that Jews can freely perform the requirements of their religion in the lands of their forefathers in the manner they choose and to enable them to live in an ease and comfort they may never perhaps have known before. The significance of the protection provided by Islam is the provision of peace and security to Jews, Christians and innocent people holding different ideas and beliefs, by undertaking service, suffering and difficulties
We will insist on peace and brotherhood, insha’Allah. If we act in the knowledge that we are all brothers then there will be no need for those walls in Israel. Palestinians and Jews will both be able to relax. There will be a stupendous wealth in the whole region. There will be free trade and movement. Just as it was in the past. It will then be very easy to relive the plenty and beauty of the old days, insha’Allah.
If such a union is established, then by Allah’s leave Muslims, Jews and Christians will all be at ease. All fears and concerns will come to an end. Art will develop as far as possible, technology will make rapid progress and there will be great wealth and abundance. Conflict and fighting will come to a complete end. Once the Turkish-Islamic Union is founded, Jews will be able to live freely in those lands without the need for walls. Palestinians will be able to move freely, trade and worship in freedom. We all of us, Christians, Jews and Muslims, will remember Allah, give thanks to Allah, increase our joy and fervor many times over, and the whole world will be like a place of festival, insha’Allah.
Sanhedrin Rabbis meet with Adnan Oktar

Beezrat Hashem the meeting will take place 21 July.
Thank you,

Is there a place for God’s Holy Mountain in Jerusalem?
Asher Frohlich’s painting of “God’s Holy Mountain” depicts a scene from an imagined future Jerusalem where Islam’s Dome of the Rock stands beside a rebuilt Jewish temple and worshipers of different faiths mingle in the courtyard.
The group says the initiative is “based on five years of research into the requirements for the precise location of a rebuilt Temple”. Its web site quotes a passage from Jewish law, called Halacha, to argue that a new, nearby location could be chosen to build a third temple, not in the spot traditionally regarded as the correct site but has been occupied by the Dome of the Rock since the 7th century:
Rev 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty [and] two months.
“Halachically, it is possible to extend the area of the Temple Mount as noted in the Mishnah (Sanhedrin 1:5, Shevu’ot 2:2),” the passage said. “A possible way of expanding the Temple Mount could be to build an earthen extension in a way that it becomes an integral part of the original mountain (Mount Moriah) and to sanctify that area per the methods described in Maimonides.”source
